Synopsis

Description
The most convenient format for storing dates that will be machine processed: sorted, indexed, etc, is ISO 8601. When publishing these dates, it’s often desirable to use a different format, one more familiar to readers.
A pubdate
that conforms to an ISO 8601 date (“yyyy-mm-dd”)
will be formatted with the $date-date-format
;
one that conforms to an ISO 8601 dateTime (“yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss”)
will be formatted with the $date-dateTime-format
.
